June 1966, Dak-to, Kontum Province.
Two Batttalions were airlifted into the the heart of the Central Highlands to relieve ARVN Regional Forces. Vietcong and forces of the 24th NVA Regiment had been mauling ARVN companies forcing them from the area of operations. The two American Battalions persued the Vietcong and NVA savagely. Nearly a month of ferocious battles ensued. By the end of the mission an entire enemy unit had been rendered combat innefective. The 1st Brigade 101 abn. was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation award for Extraordinary heroism throughout Operation Hawthorne. |

Operations will include well organized and staged scenarios inculding, Assaults, Counter Assaults, Recon Patrols, Ambush Patrols, Prisoner Snatchs, and a Very Special Multiple Objective Night Recon Operation. The Night Recon Op scenario provided by the Cimmerians is based on the final stages of Recondo School and is planned as an extreemly well staged mission not to be missed. |

Op Hawthorne is a two night, two day battle located in the foothills of Madera County just outside of Raymond, CA. Shelter Half Tents, GP tents, or other "period look" military shelters are required as squads will be assigned Field Base Camp areas. Coleman Tents, Chairs, or other modern non military items are not permitted. Portable Excrement Containers and or E tools are highly reccommended. |
