MOBILE GUERILLA FORCE.

      "BLACKJACK-31"

As noted 01 Jan 1966
Intelligence reports a suspected build up of North
Vietnamese Army, Viet-Cong, and other Communist
allied forces within areas of III CTZ Zone D. An enemy controlled area known as "The Forbidden Zone."

In absense of reconnaissance or clearing operations Hard intelligence is not avalible on enemy units, base camps, or infiltration routes within the area. Within this known refuge the enemy has had absolute freedom of movement.

5th Special Forces has formed the Mobile Guerrilla Force.
A light infantry company- sized force, Army infantry led by Special Forces scouts and recon elements. Attached together they were capable of conducting guerilla operations in War Zone D surrounded by regiments of enemy forces for periods
from thirty to sixty days, and would operate without
artillery support or chance of reinforcement.
Tactical air strikes were avalible and parachute drops of food, supplies and ammunition resupplied every four days.

On 15 December 1966, after completion of Special Forces training the Moblie Guerilla Force is flown to Duc Phong Special Forces camp, eighty miles north of Siagon on thenorthern edge of War Zone D. in preperation of its first mission, Designated BlackJack-31.
